By James Denselow 3rd Jul 2026
Residents are being invited to enjoy an evening of Ukrainian music, poetry and culture in Hitchin tomorrow while helping to raise money for humanitarian work in Ukraine.
The "Ukrainian Music and Culture: A Summer Fundraising Concert" will take place on Saturday, 4 July, at Walsworth Road Baptist Church, bringing together live music, traditional performances and poetry in a celebration of Ukrainian heritage.
Organised with support from the local Ukrainian community and UAID International, the event aims to raise funds for humanitarian assistance while offering local residents the chance to experience Ukrainian culture first-hand.
The programme will feature live Ukrainian music, performances on the traditional bandura – Ukraine's national stringed instrument – alongside poetry and performances from Ukrainian artists and musicians.
The concert runs from 6pm until 8.30pm, with doors opening from 5.30pm, at Walsworth Road Baptist Church, SG4 9SP. Tickets cost £15 for adults, £5 for young people aged 13 to 18, while children under 12 can attend free.
Organisers say the evening is designed to bring the Hitchin community together through music and culture while supporting people affected by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
