The ongoing fuel crisis has seen petrol shortages impact people's jobs and livelihood's everywhere - and now it has reached sport.

Hitchin Town's Tuesday night trip to Tamworth in the Southern League was called off, with the Canaries citing the fuel crisis as the reason.

However, Tamworth's social media feed made their displeasure known through a truculent tweet.

When Hitchin's Twitter account shared details of how fans can buy tickets for Saturday's game against Stourbridge at Top Field, Tamworth took exception.

Posting on their official Twitter account to their 17,400 followers, Tamworth trolled: "Praying For You During These Tough Times.

"Let's Hope Your Players Can Find A Way To Get To Your Ground For This One."
