Heavy rain changing to sleet with the possibility of light snow is forecast for Thursday afternoon in Hitchin and north Herts.

Light snow will ease into the afternoon with a moderate breeze. Top temperatures will be 4C with a low of -2.

Tonight

Any rain, sleet or snow will end before clear spells develop overnight. A colder night than last night with wind dropping to light.

Met Office forecast for Friday:

A cold day ahead with areas of fog clearing to patchy cloud and some sunny spells. An early frost is likely before clouds build and winds begin to strengthen later. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Windy with rain and snow on Saturday, this possibly disruptive. Mainly dry, bright, but cold on Sunday. Bright and a little milder with light winds on Monday.
