Hitchin is set to enjoy heatwave temperatures this week as we experience a slice of summer in September.

Plenty of sunshine is on offer today, [Tuesday, September 7] with balmy blue skies over our town and surrounding areas.

It will be very warm with prolonged spells of sunshine across North Herts with temperatures that could top 30C for the first time since July.

Southerly winds are coming in from the continent to import warmer and clearer air.

There will be late sunshine tonight with a bright and clear evening with more hot weather on Wednesday - well above average for this time of year.
