Hitchin: Woman sexually assaulted after leaving Rose and Crown on Friday

Police are releasing images of two men they would like to identify as part of their enquiries following a serious sexual assault in Hitchin.

The victim – a woman – was assaulted between midnight and 3am today (Friday, February 4) after leaving the Rose and Crown Pub in Market Place.

Detective Sergeant Jonathan Green from the constabulary's Sexual Offences Investigation Team (SOIT) said: "We would like to speak to the men pictured as we believe that they were in the area and may have information that can assist our investigation.

"If you are one of the men pictured or you recognise either of them, please get in touch by calling 101, quoting Op Oxisol. If you have any other information that you believe could help our investigation please do not hesitate to make contact.

"The victim is currently receiving support from our specialist officers.

"While this investigation is on-going, we have increased police patrols around Hitchin town centre to help keep people safe and reassure the local community."
