Joanne Harte is the owner and founder of Systematic Homes, a professional declutter service based in Hitchin.

The busy mum launched her business back in 2017 but feels now, with all of us spending more time at home during lockdown, that decluttering and organising our homes is more important then ever.

Read on to find out more on why it's good for you to declutter, how you can makes changes, and why Joanne has become so busy during the lockdowns of 2020.

....................

Clutter is something that can build easily and for many tackling it can feel overwhelming and challenging.

Letting go of something can trigger an emotion that will make you postpone doing anything with the stuff you don't want or even need.

For many the fact the clutter has built up stops then from inviting people over, they feel embarrassed and just don't know where to start.

Our homes, especially now are somewhere we spend a lot of time. They are meant to be a place we go to at the end of a day to relax and unwind, but for many, this is not the case.

For many different reasons, their homes have become clutter and disorganised, causing them stress, anxiety, sleepless nights, arguments, and can affect their mental health.

Systematic Homes is on a mission to let people know there is help out there

Many people who contact Systematic Homes, say they never knew there was such a thing as a Home Orgniser and Professional declutterer and this is something we want to change.

I want to share all my knowledge and tips, offer support and advice, and change lives by taking people on a journey to a calm home.

I have been supporting families my whole career, as a nursery nurse and family support worker, I have always been super organised and in 2016 I found the Association of Professional Declutterers and Organisers (APDO)

It was like finding my tribe. I could build a business with all my knowledge, experiences, and my passion and in 2017 Systematic Homes was launched.

Demand for decluttering services grows during lockdowns

Since I returned to work after lockdown in June I have noticed an increase in people contacting me and looking for support.

Many of them just stumbled across me and always say, I wish I know about you a long time ago.

Since lockdown my business has changed so much, I now offer online support as well as hands-on in the home support.

I have grown and know that for most it's about dedicating the time to a journey that starts with decluttering and is life-changing.
