Hitchin's renowned steel statutes at Coopers Yard have been a feature of the town since they were unveiled in 2011.

Coopers Yard was previously the barrel making area in Hitchin, in a town that traditionally had many breweries.

The piece of art is called 'The Conversation' and the rusted steel installation depicts two coopers - barrel makers - in their traditional hats and aprons taking a rest on a bench with their dog, sitting beside two barrels.

Situated near to our town centre, they are also well-known to drivers on the A502, Paynes Park.

The pair have also been known to sport festive tinsel at Christmas, while they donned face masks during lockdown.

Responding to a picture post on our Hitchin Nub News Facebook page earlier this week, readers have nicknamed the pair 'Meghan and Harry', in a reference to the Royal couple in the news.

However, others dubbed the pair, 'Hinge and Bracket' a nod to the spoof duo of elderly musicians famous in the 1970s and 1980s, while some simply call them 'Arthur and Martha'.

But what do you call them? And the loyal companion at their feet?

Let us know, we'd love to know!
