Joyful Ukulele Morning with Frven Lim at Milford Lodge Care Home
By Eliana Ferraris 10th Jul 2026
Milford Lodge Care Home in Hitchin was filled with sunshine, music, and smiling faces on 10th July, when Frven Lim from The Ministry of Happier visited to entertain residents with his wonderfully uplifting ukulele singalong.
Residents gathered eagerly for the morning session, and from the very first strum, the room lit up. Frven's warm energy, gentle humour, and bright, joyful style created an atmosphere that was impossible not to join in with. His ukulele brought familiar tunes to life, encouraging residents to sing, sway, tap along, and share moments of pure enjoyment.
The morning quickly became a celebration of connection and happiness. Residents from across the home—including those living in Sycamore, Milford Lodge's specialist dementia environment—responded beautifully to the music. Some sang confidently, others hummed softly, and many simply smiled, relaxed, and soaked in the cheerful atmosphere.
Team members described the session as one of those simple but powerful moments that make a big difference to wellbeing.
Residents shared how much they enjoyed the visit, saying the music made them feel awake, uplifted, and ready for the day. The Engagement & Wellbeing Team were delighted to welcome Frven, whose passion for spreading joy through music aligns perfectly with Milford Lodge's commitment to meaningful, person‑centred experiences.
As the final notes faded, the feeling across the home was one of warmth, connection, and gratitude — a truly happy morning at Milford Lodge.
