Keith Jones Master Butchers scoops two prestigious awards: 'We won them for Hitchin!'
An outstanding independent butcher from Hitchin has been celebrating after winning not one, but two, prestigious national awards this week.
Keith Jones Butchers on Redhill Road landed the People's Choice National Family Business of the Year and People's Choice Family Business of the Year in a public vote.
Hitchin's highly-acclaimed family butcher was overwhelmed with the support he has received from so many in and around our town to triumph in the countrywide competition.
Modest Keith said afterwards: "Winning the awards have been the most amazing moment I have experienced since opening the shop eight years ago.
"I can't believe not only did we win the South East and London's People's Choice award but we also won the national People's Choice Family Business of the Year.
"This was a pubic vote - but your voices carried more than anywhere else in the UK to bring this award back to Hitchin.
"For us to get this recognition means the world to us and we really can't thank you enough - these awards are for Hitchin."
Master butcher Keith and his hard-working family team are renowned in Hitchin and surrounding areas for their helpfulness and advice for customers.
Proud son Luke added: "I honestly think that this is the least my dad deserves from all the hard work him and the team have put in over the years with the shop taking off massively.
"A massive shoutout has to go to each and every person that has set foot in the shop, purchasing everything from a single egg to a monthly meat hamper.
"To achieve the things we have achieved so far in the shop is immense and puts our name in shining lights.
"It's one of the greatest achievements so far in my career to be even able to say I work in this shop. I can't wait for what the future holds."
