Hitchin's renowned Willy Wonka of ice cream has created gelato to mark England playing Italy in the final of Euro 2020 at Wembley on Sunday!

Fabio's Gelato on Hermitage Road are renowned for wild and wacky flavours that are as original as they are mouth-watering - and they are onto another winner this weekend.

Popular Fabio Vincenti, whose nickname is the 'Willy Wonka of Ice Cream', has invented gelato called 'A Match Made in Heaven' in honour of the big clash on Sunday between the Three Lions and the Azzurri at Wembley this weekend.

Ingredients include custard gelato, tiramisu, sea salted and amaretti. Speaking to Hitchin Nub News, Willy Wonka, sorry, Fabio, explained: "We were meant to bring back flavours but having a baby meant I couldn't sort them out in time for earlier games.

"It's an iconic final that we maybe won't see again in our lifetimes so we asked customers what they would love to see as an Italian and English fusion flavour.

"Our customers had some cracking ideas so we picked some of the best to create 'A Match Made in Heaven'."

Recently, Fabio has also created the Croc-Kane-Te, a play on words relating to Croccante, caramelised almond brittle bars - with his effort including vanilla gelato, dark chocolate chips, sour cherry, hazlenuts and Amaretto biscuits.

Fabio added: "We also had some real 'Willy Wonka' ideas sent in by our customers - including roast dinner, pizza and pie 'n mash flavours, not to mention Aperol and Pimms and Limoncello and Stella!"
