Hitchin saw no major political shifts in the election this year

Whilst this year's local elections have seen huge changes to the British political landscape all remains the same across the three Hitchin seats.

Hitchin North saw Ian Albert re-elected for Labour, Hitchin South saw the Liberal Democrats change their candidate but keep the seat won by Chris Lucas, and David Barnard for the Conservatives was re-elected in Hitchin Rural.

The Liberal Democrats are now the largest party across Hertfordshire but don't have enough seats for overall control of the council.
