Local opera talent to bring festive cheer to Hitchin’s Market Place this Sunday

Hitchin's Market Place – known to many as The Square – will be filled with festive music this weekend as local star Benjamin Kempton returns home for a special Christmas performance.
The accomplished singer, fresh from appearing in Dead Man Walking with the English National Opera at the London Coliseum, will perform live beside Hitchin's Christmas tree this Sunday from 12.30pm to 1.30pm.
Shoppers and families heading into town are encouraged to stop by, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy an hour of festive crooning from one of Hitchin's own.
Organisers said they were "delighted" to welcome Benjamin back to the town for what promises to be a seasonal highlight in the run-up to Christmas.
