Luton sweet shop launches Eid collection
By Felix Moore 20th Feb 2026
With Eid fast approaching, one of Luton's longstanding sweet shops is preparing for its busiest period of the year.
Ambala in Luton has unveiled its 2026 Eid collection, bringing together traditional mithai and ready-made gift boxes ahead of celebrations marking the end of Ramadan.
For many local families, a visit to Ambala in the days leading up to Eid has become something of a tradition. Sweets are typically shared with relatives, neighbours and guests, making presentation boxes and assorted tins especially popular.
Among this year's highlights is the Eid Gift Box, a curated selection of classic mithai presented in seasonal packaging, designed specifically for gifting.
The classic Mixed Mithai Tin, featuring an assortment of handcrafted sweets in a reusable tin, is another option expected to be in high demand as households prepare to host visitors.
Customers can also purchase traditional favourites individually, including Special Ladoo, a staple at festive gatherings, and assorted barfi and dry mix mithai, online and in store.
With Eid typically drawing increased footfall in the town centre, local retailers are anticipating a busy run-up to the festival. Shoppers are being encouraged to purchase early to avoid missing out on seasonal gift boxes.
For many in Luton's diverse community, exchanging sweets remains a central part of Eid celebrations — and businesses like Ambala play a key role in keeping those traditions alive.
Luton shoppers can visit the store now at 211 Dunstable Road, LU1 1DD.
