Milford Lodge Care Home host Pat Butcher Brunch this Mother’s Day
By Eliana Ferraris 16th Mar 2026
Residents at Milford Lodge Care Home hosted a fabulous, nostalgic morning as staff host a "Pat Butcher Brunch", celebrating one of British television's most iconic soap characters to celebrate Mothers Day.
The home was transformed into a mini‑Walford, complete with leopard‑print tablecloths, oversized costume jewellery, and a playlist of cockney classics. Leopard print, costume earrings & fur coats were the dress code for the event.
Activities Lead Eliana & Activities Organiser Devina said they saw that a bar in Deptford were hosting the same event & thought that rather than take a handful of residents by minibus why not host it here for everyone to enjoy including relatives. "Pat Butcher was known for her glamour, her grit & her huge earrings — she's unforgettable. We wanted to bring that spirit into the home for a day."
Residents tucked iinto a buffet style brunch of classic "picky bits" & enjoyed themed cocktails while sharing memories of watching EastEnders over the years.
The morning included live entertainment by local clarinet player Jackie McDonald performing cockney classic anthems such as "Any Old Iron," "I'm Henry the Eighth, I Am," "Down at the Old Bull & Bush," and "The Lambeth Walk
