More than 21,000 potholes on Hertfordshire roads were repaired in the first eight months of 2026.

Speaking at a meeting of the highways cabinet panel on Thursday, October 8, executive member for highways Cllr Stephen Giles-Medhurst (Lib Dem, Abbots Langley) said that the 21,152 repairs was 18% more than the 17,965 in the same period last year.

The pothole data was shared with county councillors as part of an update on the highway budget expenditure.
