New half hour bus service from Bedford to Hitchin and Stevenage via Shefford, Henlow, Arlesey and Ickleford set to launch soon. PICTURE CREDIT: Stagecoach East

A new bus service linking Bedford to Stevenage via Hitchin for the first time is set to launch soon.

The new service which is set to start operating next month will visit Hitchin and Stevenage via Shefford, Henlow, Arlesey and Ickleford.

Stagecoach East announced the half hourly service will start to operate from Sunday, February 18 and will be known as the 9A/9B/9C/9D.

Passengers will be able to pay £2 for a full or part single journey on the route as part of the ongoing fair-cap programme which will last until June 2024.
