Hitchin Hare's supremo Jake Amos is starting up a new initiative to support the mental health of people in the town and the surrounding area.

It takes the form of "The Flawed Walk" and follows in the footsteps of the highly successful "Flawed Hero Marathon", that took place in Letchworth at midnight earlier in the year.

Recent sad events with a fellow Flawed Hero Marathon runner have fast tracked an idea that Jake was developing on the sidelines.

The initiative hopes to create an active, positive environment for people suffering from stress, depression or simply a downturn in their feelings.

As Jake explained to Hitchin Nub News "I'm going to make it happen, along with the help of those who might be able to do so. And whilst I have been putting together the finer details, one of the vital aspects of this idea involves people to assist from time to time or even on a frequent basis".

"It's too important for me to ignore anymore. I'm just fed up and sad at seeing good people leave our lives too soon and if something like this helps, then it's worth it".

The walks are 5km long and are planned to be once a month. Each venue will have parking and coffees for post-walk chats.

If you plan to come along Jake asked people to email him - [email protected]
