A new bar and restaurant is coming to Hitchin soon.

On the site of the former Cafe Rouge, a new venture called Ibos will be opening shortly.

The new place on Hitchin High Street is set to offer a range of burgers and pizzas.

Café Rouge, a previous fixture in Hitchin town centre, permanently closed last summer after owners of the high street chain fell into administration.

The site on Hitchin High Street shut its doors in March last year due to the coronavirus pandemic, and did not reopen.

Casual Dining Group – which also owns the Bella Italia and Las Iguanas chains – said at the time that more than 1,900 jobs were to be shed across the country, including Hitchin, after administrators sought to find a new buyer.

Nub News contacted Hitchin town centre boss Tom Hardy to get the lowdown on the site and he told us there will be more information released on Ibos very soon.

For more information on Ibos call the number advertised on their shop front 01462 654 321.
