New Support Group for Carers coming to Hitchin

A Carers Support Hub is launching in Hitchin this August, offering a "welcoming space for unpaid carers to meet, chat, and share experiences".
If you care for a relative, partner or friend who is elderly, disabled, has a health condition or misuses substances, you're welcome to join.
Run by Carers in Hertfordshire, this will be the charity's 18th community-based Hub group.
It is free for carers, along with the other support the charity provides, which includes online groups, an information and advice service, mentoring, and workshops.
The first meeting is on Monday 4th August 2025, 1pm–2.30pm, at Christchurch, Bedford Road, Hitchin.
The group will then meet monthly, the first Monday of the month, (same time and venue, except bank holidays).
The group is funded by North Herts Council and the Garfield Weston Foundation.
At the launch, carers can learn more about Hubs and suggest speakers or activities for future sessions. In September, a representative from Hertfordshire County Council is due to speak about assistive technology, and in October, someone from Health & Independent Living Support will discuss the services they offer, such as meals on wheels.
To book or learn more, email [email protected] or call 01992 58 69 69. You can also book to attend any meeting via the listing for it at www.carersinherts.org.uk/events
