Police appeal after aggravated burglary in Hitchin

Police are appealing for witnesses after an aggravated burglary took place in Hitchin late on Saturday night (27 September).
Officers were called at around 11.15pm to reports that a group of people had broken into two properties on Oughton Head Way.
Tools were used to force entry, and a number of watches were stolen – though these were later recovered.
No one was injured in the incident.
Two men, aged 45 and 26, have since been arrested in connection with the burglary and remain in custody while enquiries continue.
Detective Inspector Alexandra Bruzas, who is leading the investigation, said:
"Our enquiries are continuing and I am appealing for anyone with information to please get in touch. Did you see a group of people acting suspiciously in the Oughton Head Way late last night, or have any further information? Please report it to the police."
