Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman in her 70s was bitten by a dog while walking in Priory Park in Hitchin.
The incident happened between 8am and 8.15am on Friday 27 February, when the woman was walking in the park with her own dog.
It is reported that another dog – described as a chocolate brown Labrador – attempted to attack the victim's dog. When the woman intervened to separate the animals, she was bitten on the hand.
Officers from the North Herts Neighbourhood Policing Team are now appealing for information as enquiries continue.
PC Stacie Peacock said: "Our enquiries are continuing, and we are appealing for anyone with information to please come forward.
"We would also like to speak to the owner of the Labrador, who is described as a white woman in her late 30s who was quite tall with long dark brown hair."
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have information to make contact.
Anyone with information can email [email protected].
