Did you witness a teenager running from officers in Stevenage?

Police in Stevenage are appealing for witnesses and information after a teenage boy ran away from officers.

The incident took place at around 1220pm on Wednesday, July 5, on Bedwell Crescent.

Officers had approached a teenage male at which point he made off in the direction of Ramsdell where he was located around five minutes later, and detained for a search, under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act.

During the search, officers located Class B drugs. Officers conducted a search in the immediate area and located a bladed article.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis, being in possession of a bladed article and being in possession of cocaine.

After arrest, under Section 18, officers proceeded with a search of the suspects address where numerous items were found including a substantial amount of cash as well as Class A drugs.

PC Jimmy Barber, who is investigating, said: "I am appealing for anyone who was in the area of either Bedwell Crescent or Ramsdell around the time of 1220pm on Wednesday, July 7.

"One of the people we are aware of who possibly witnessed the incident was walking a dog, we are particularly interested in speaking to them.

"If anyone has any information, no matter how important you think it might be, it could be vital to our investigation. Please contact me by email via [email protected]."
