Witness appeal following an assault in Stevenage

Police are appealing for information and witnesses about an assault that occurred in Stevenage.

The incident took place at around 530pm on Wednesday (June 28) on Fairlands Way.

It was reported that two young males approached the victim on his bicycle and exchanged words. One of them proceeded to kick the bicycle which caused the victim to fall off.

One of the men then allegedly punched the victim in the face causing a bloody nose and bruising.

The victim did not sustain serious injuries from the fall.

PC Denis Wisniewski, who is investigating, said: "I am appealing for anyone who has witnessed or has information relating to this incident to contact the police.

"This was a terrible ordeal for the victim, and we are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances around what happened.

"I urge anyone who has information that may help our investigation to contact me by email via [email protected]."
