Appeal following incident in Fairlands Valley Park

Officers are appealing for information and witnesses following an incident in Fairlands Valley Park.

At around 1230pm on Saturday 10 February, a woman aged in her fifties was subjected to racist verbal abuse.

The suspect is described as a white man aged around 60 to 70 years old and of a large build. He had a full head of short grey/blond hair, blue eyes and was clean shaven.

The man was wearing black clothing and was riding a red/maroon four wheeled mobility scooter (possibly ShopMobility brand). He also had a black and white dog with him.

The incident is being treated as a hate crime.

Hate Crime Officer PC Lewis Thomson, who is investigating, said: "Racism has no place in Hertfordshire and we take reports of this nature seriously.

"We are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to get in touch. Were you in the park? Did you see what happened?

"The man is believed to regularly frequent the park – do you know who he is? Please get in touch if you can help.

"You can email me at [email protected] quoting crime reference 41/11933/24."
