Neighbourhood Watch members across Hertfordshire including Hitchin have reported receiving letters through the post claiming to be from Amazon.

The letters invited them to join a "Test Club" where they would be given the opportunity to test new Amazon products in exchange for free items and commission.

Recipients were asked to submit their details to register their interest in joining the test club.

Herts Police have warned people to be vigilant. They said: "We have contacted Amazon, who have confirmed that they did not send the letters, hence we believe it is a scam.

"As always, please be suspicious of unexpected contacts of any type, particularly if they are asking for you to provide your personal details."
