Police have released the CCTV image of a man they would like to identify following a burglary in Knebworth.

At around 1230pm on Monday (March 6) it was reported that a man distracted a member of staff at Knebworth Post Office, St Martin's Road and went behind the counter.

A short time later, a quantity of cash was discovered to be missing from the till. No threats were made and nobody was injured.

Detective Constable Rebecca Hargrave, of the North Herts Local Crime Unit, said: "I'd like to hear from anyone who recognises the man in the image.

"It is believed he was in the area around the time of this incident and may be able to assist with ongoing enquiries.

"If you have information to assist the investigation, please contact me by email via [email protected]."

If you have any information about this crime call the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 41/19074/23.
