Police have released a CCTV image of someone they would like to identify following a theft in Stevenage.

At around 1230pm on Wednesday, August 2, a man walked into the Co-Op on The Hyde and selected products from the shelf before walking out of the shop without making any attempt to purchase them.

The incident is being linked to another theft that occurred at the shop on Friday, August 8.

At around 910pm, several bottles of alcohol were stolen from The Hyde.

PC Carl Webster of the Stevenage Safer Neighbourhood Team said: "I'd like to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident or who recognises the person in the image.

"He was thought to have been in the area around the time of the incident and could be able to help with our enquiries.

"Is this you, or do you recognise this person? Please email me at [email protected] with any information."

Call the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference 41/62045/23.
