Police are releasing an image of two women they would like to speak to in connection with a purse theft in Hitchin. 

The incident occurred in Waitrose in Bedford Road, between 11.27am and 12.04pm on Thursday 8 December. 

It was reported that a woman was shopping in the supermarket with her shopping trolley when her purse was taken from inside.  

When she tried to make a purchase in the town centre at 12.30pm, she realised her purse was missing. 

The purse was found at around 12.45pm in British Heart Foundation with bank cards and cash removed. 

Officers would like to speak with the people pictured as it is believed they may have information to assist enquiries. If this is you, or you recognise them, please email [email protected]
