Police are releasing an image of two women they would like to speak to in connection with a purse theft in Hitchin. 

The incident occurred in Waitrose in Bedford Road, between 11.27am and 12.04pm on Thursday 8 December. 

It was reported that a woman was shopping in the supermarket with her shopping trolley when her purse was taken from inside.  

When she tried to make a purchase in the town centre at 12.30pm, she realised her purse was missing. 

The purse was found at around 12.45pm in British Heart Foundation with bank cards and cash removed.
