CCTV images released after card theft in Hitchin

Police have released images of a person they want to identify after a card theft in Hitchin.

The incident occurred at around 1pm on Wednesday, December 21 at the HSBC branch on Market Place.

The victim had been using a cash machine at the bank when he was approached by another man who distracted him and stole his bank card and cash.

This was later used at another machine to withdraw several hundred pounds before it was cancelled.

PCSO Cynthia Combe, of the Hitchin Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: "We are releasing this image because we believe the man pictured may have been in the area and could assist with our enquiries.

"If you recognise this person, or have any further information, please email me at [email protected]."

You can also report information by calling the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference 41/103156/22
