Police are appealling for help after an attempted burglary in Bancroft.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following an attempted burglary in Hitchin.

The incident occurred in Bancroft, at around 3.50pm on Wednesday, 18 September.

It was reported that two males knocked at an address and attempted to gain entry when the occupant opened the door.

The males then fled. It is believed they were in the company of a third male.

Nothing was taken and the occupant was unhurt.

One of the males is described as white and was wearing a black puffer coat with a grey hoodie underneath.

PC Sean Mccann, who is investigating, said: "Our enquiries are continuing at this time to trace the suspects and establish the circumstances around the incident.

"As part of these enquiries, I am appealing to members of the public for their assistance.

"Did you see three males acting suspiciously near the Park View flats? Did you capture any CCTV, doorbell or dash cam footage? If you have any information at all, please get in touch."
