A popular pub and restuarant near Hitchin has sent a message looking forward to reopening next week.

The Cricketers Weston is gearing up to welcome punters back to their highly-acclaimed site on Damask Green Road.

Wth lockdown restrictions easing so that restaurants and pub gardens will be allowed to serve customers sitting outdoors - including alcohol - from next week many businesses have been busy getting ready for the date.

Customers will be able to meet in groups of up to six people from different households, and a maximum of two households can meet to form a group of any size.

Staff at the Cricketers have been busy preparing a large stretch tent in the beer garden so they will have punters covered come rain or shine.

They posted on their official Instagram feed "The grass is cut, the tent is up and the bar is fully stocked...Monday, we are ready for you."
