Stevenage played out a lively 0-0 draw with Port Vale at Vale Park on Tuesday night.

A game of much promise was let down by a lack of quality in the final third from both teams.

Overall, Alex Revell will be happy with a point away from home but disappointed that his side couldn't capitalise from Port Vales' wastefulness in front of goal.

Stevenage

Jamie Cumming: 5.5 - Not many saves to make, very alert to come off his goal line, commanded his backline well

Romeao Hutton: 6 - Impressive at times, looked to drive forward when in possession and kept Montano relatively quiet

Terrence Vancooten: 6 - Another strong performance from the young defender, no faults

Scott Cuthbert: 6.5 - Captain's performance, led his line excellently and made some key recovery tackles and blocks

Joe Martin: 6.5 - Very positive passes and looked to take the team up the pitch when on the ball

Elliot Osborne: 5.5 - Failed to make much of an impact, signs of promise but not much reward

Chris Lines: 5.5 - Another unusually quiet performance from the midfielder

Tom Pett: 6.5 - Quietly impressive game, ever consistent since his move to centre midfield

Danny Newton: 5.5 - Failed to make much of an impact, worked hard and chased loose balls with little reward

Elliot List: 6 - Electric on the ball and didn't give the defenders any time on the ball

Brown: 6 - Commanded his backline, did the basics well and looked to start counter attacks when possible

Gibbons: 5.5 - Ran the line well and kept Aitchinson to scraps

Smith: 6 – Solid partnership with his fellow defenders

Legge: 6.5 - Component defending kept the forwards from having any clear-cut opportunities

Crookes: 7 - Won every aerial duel, immense defending at times, led his line very well

Montano: 7 - Ran the channels well and very positive in possession

Conlon: 4.5- Disappointing performance from the Ex Boro man

Joyce: 6 - Composed performance before being subbed just before half time with an injury

Taylor: 6 - Battled well and made it scrappy when he needed to be

Swan: 6 - Worked hard and ran the channels, good performance on his debut

Rodney: 5.5 - Energetic performance, only one chance which was blocked, not much of an impact
