Ransoms Meadows project is off to a great start!

Volunteers have been hard at work planting new trees at Ransoms Recreation Ground as part of efforts to bring "more wildness" to the popular green space.

The initiative brings together volunteers from OneYMCA Anderson House and local business Ransoms Naturals, helping deliver improvements residents said they wanted to see during a 2024 community survey.

Organisers say the tree planting will help enhance biodiversity while creating a greener, more natural environment for visitors to enjoy.

Support for the project has come from Barchams Trees and Tilehouse Rotary, who supplied the trees, while funding has been provided through the National Lottery.

Residents who would like to get involved can volunteer on Tuesday afternoons by contacting Steve Granger to take part in future planting and improvement sessions.
