Save the date - as it's never too early to start thinking about Hitchin's Christmas Tree Festival

As the month of August and the summer holiday season are about to end, it's time to start thinking ahead.

This year's eagerly-awaited celebration marking the Hitchin Christmas Tree Festival will once again be held at its established home, Holy Saviour Church on Radcliffe Road - over the weekend of Saturday, December 10 and Sunday, December 11.

Held every year since 1997 the event is believed to be the oldest established Christmas Tree Festival in Britain.

Organisers said: "The summer holidays are drawing to a close - time to start thinking ahead!

"Past exhibitors and those of you that have expressed an interest in taking part this year will be hearing from us very soon - just as soon as we have packed away the suitcases and got back into 'work' mode."
