Shooting Gallery: Get set for a brilliant creative community art concept to open on Hitchin High Street

Visitors to Hitchin town centre may have been intrigued by what is going on behind closed doors at the site of the former Poundland on the High Street.

As you can see by our photograph below, a poster on the front door of the now vacant site, says cryptically: "See you soon."

Well, Hitchin Nub News is happy to confirm that the space is to host a brilliant creative community concept, called Shooting Gallery.

Organisers describe the one of a kind event as follows: "The shooting gallery revolves around the concept of opportunity.

"With the support of Hitchin Creative, three friends and local artists seized the chance to utilize a vast space located directly on the High Street.

"To fully maximize this space, the opportunity was extended to a multitude of community creatives, inviting them to exhibit and contribute to the creation of something extraordinary.

The ultimate outcome is an unparalleled art event of grand proportions, featuring renowned artists alongside talented individuals who are experiencing their first opportunity to showcase their work."

There will be a private opening night on Thursday, September 14, with a live DJ, drinks and a chance to meet the artists behind the exciting concept.

The space will then be open to the public from Friday, September 15 through until Sunday, September 24.
