There is a chance of snow in Hitchin later this week.

The weather outlook for Thursday and Friday is that as winter commences, the current cold spell will continue, meaning snow could fall in north Herts.

The Met Office have said that sleet will arrive late evening on Thursday, with snow showers turning heavy at 9am, Friday morning before the wintry conditions ease up after lunchtime.

Sleet is expected to return in the afternoon with the temperature expected to be a chilly 3C.

The weather for today, Wednesday, is that a strengthening westerly wind and showery rain will arrive later.
