A Hitchin-based security firm and proud Hitchin Nub News sponsor has been recognised among the county's leading businesses after reaching the finals of two prestigious business awards.

Arena Security was shortlisted at the 2026 Watford Chamber of Conscience SME Hertfordshire Business Awards, for Business of the Year (More than 50 Employees) and at the national Fire and Security Awards where Sarah Large was nominated for "Security Industry Women of the Year".

Although Sarah narrowly missed out on taking home her award, reaching the final is a significant achievement, placing Arena Security alongside some of Hertfordshire's most successful businesses and the firm has its fingers crossed for the SME final on the 17^th of September.

Award organisers described reaching the finals as "a significant accomplishment and a story worth telling", adding that being recognised as a finalist provides "a compelling reason to put your business in the spotlight."

The national awards ceremony took place at Tewinbury Farm, Hertford, bringing together businesses from across the county to celebrate excellence, innovation and customer service.
