Following the success of last autumn's Flower Festival, St Mary's Church in Hitchin is once again inviting the community to come together — this time for a special Jigsaw Festival in aid of its ambitious renewal project.
The event, taking place over two days — Friday and Saturday — at St Mary's Church, will feature an extraordinary display of completed jigsaw puzzles, all available to buy and take home.
Organisers say the festival will be one of the largest of its kind in the region, with nearly 500 puzzles donated and completed by local supporters. Each puzzle is mounted on card to show it's complete, transforming the church into a colourful, ever-changing "art gallery" of intricate designs and scenes.
The Jigsaw Festival follows the church's successful 2023 event, which proved a hit with local puzzle lovers and visitors alike. This year's festival promises an even wider selection — offering enthusiasts the chance to stock up before the winter months while supporting a good cause.
All proceeds will go towards St Mary's ongoing "A Million for St Mary's" renewal project — an ambitious £1 million effort to upgrade and modernise the church's facilities for future generations.
