Stevenage Reuse Centre Reopens – Hitchin Residents Encouraged to Donate and Shop Second-Hand

Hitchin residents looking to declutter, save money, or shop sustainably now have a refreshed option nearby, with the reopening of the Stevenage Reuse Centre.
Located just a short drive from Hitchin, at Caxton Way, Stevenage, the centre has moved into a brand-new building and is welcoming visitors once again. It offers a wide range of quality second-hand household goods – from furniture and small appliances to toys and homeware – all at affordable prices.
The facility plays a key role in cutting waste by giving items a second life, helping to reduce the need for new products and supporting Hertfordshire's push towards a circular economy.
Cllr Paul Zukowskyj, Executive Member for the Environment, Transport and Growth at Hertfordshire County Council, said: "We're thrilled to reopen the Stevenage Reuse Centre and continue supporting our residents to reduce, reuse and recycle. Giving items a second life helps cut waste, save money, and protect the environment."
The centre is open Thursday to Monday from 10am to 5.45pm, and closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
