Take on the ‘12 Miles for 12 Charities Challenge’ this February
Helping Herts, the official charity of Stort Valley Rotary, is excited to launch the 12 Miles for 12 Charities 2025 Challenge this February. Open to all ages and abilities, participants can walk, run, cycle, swim, or take on another activity of their choice while raising vital funds for 12 Hertfordshire-based charities.
Looking for inspiration? The Helping Herts team once completed a backwards walk for their 12 miles! Are you a dance school? Why not dance your way through your high street to take part? This challenge is a fantastic opportunity to get creative, bring people together, encourage teamwork, and raise funds for vital local causes—all while having fun and staying active!
The challenge is already gaining momentum, with schools like The Adeyfield Academy, Simon Balle School, and St Albans Girls' School organising a "Pedal for a Purpose" fundraiser in early February. Together, they'll cycle 120 static miles to support Herts Mind Network, with donations match-funded by Helping Herts to double the impact.
Funds raised will benefit a range of causes, from mental health and homelessness to education and family support. This year's event also welcomes three new charity partners: GRIT – Growing Resilience in Teens, Herts Inclusive Theatre, and Future Living Hertford.
Gordon Morrison, Co-founder of Helping Herts, said: "This is a simple, fun way to support charities making a real difference in our community. We're especially excited to see how schools, scout groups, dance teams, and local organisations take on the challenge this year!"
Jim Tatchell, Co-founder of Helping Herts, added: "Whether you're a seasoned athlete or just looking for a fun way to stay active, 12 Miles for 12 Charities is a brilliant opportunity to do good while feeling great. We can't wait to see the creative and unique ways people take on the challenge."
