The Signing Company wins Diversity and Inclusion Champion Award at 2023 What's On for Kids National Children's Activities Awards

The celebrated What's on 4 Kids National Children's Activities Awards, was launched in 2006 to showcase the UK's most loved children's clubs, classes, leaders, venues and volunteers, with the experts – parents and carers – nominating and voting for their favourites.

The Signing Company, who's mission is to 'enrich communication for all' have been delivering classes which feature British Sign Language signs to babies and children (0-5 years) and their families, carers and Early Years practitioners for over 7 years in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire.

Rebecca Reynolds, the Founder and Director of The Signing Company was described by a member of the awards panel as, 'the most deserving person' to win the Diversity & Inclusion Award.

Rebecca, said: "I feel extremely privileged to receive this award. Being Deaf and having a Deaf twin sister means that I have experienced first-hand barriers to accessing and participating in activities others take for granted.

"By teaching BSL signs to those with or without additional needs, the goal of The Signing Company is to provide little ones and their carers with tools to communicate, become part of a wider community and foster inclusivity.

"To receive recognition for this therefore means a great deal to me."
