U3A is a UK-wide collection of 1000+ charities that provide the opportunity for those no longer in work to come together and learn for fun.

In 2022 it is celebrating its 40th Anniversary with many special events happening all over UK.

U3a walking the HOOP – Saturday 17th September. Part of Hitchin's contribution from the Walking Group is a walk round the Hitchin HOOP on Saturday 17th September. The HOOP is a 12 mile circular walk on footpaths around the outskirts of Hitchin. This will be a fun event, not a race, which U3A members, family and friends are joining in for part or all of the route. They set off from the Hitchin Market Square at 9.30am and will arrive back in the Square about 4pm. Do show your support for the intrepid adventurers!

Stall and Groupfest – Tuesday 20th September. Tuesday 20th September will see a colourful display and representatives from over 24 of U3A Hitchin's activity and interest groups at a Groupfest event at The Sun Hotel in the Tavistock room. Members will be in Hitchin Market Place to attract your attention and point you in the right direction. Visitors will be able to talk to group leaders and take away information leaflets. You will also be given a raffle ticket which you can exchange for a hot drink, and the winning raffle ticket pulled at the end of the day will entitle the bearer to a meal for two at The Sun Hotel. Come and find out more!
