Valentine's Day: The top five most romantic Hitchin restaurants for couples as rated by Trip Advisor

Updated: With Valentine's Day approaching here's the most romantic restaurants in our town and surrounding areas according to Trip Advisor.

The most romantic day of the year is looming and date night restaurants are getting booked up fast across Hitchin.

For some, a date night might consist of firing out a few messages on a dating app in a bid for a last-minute hook up, while for others, it'll be sharing a nice bottle, a meal deal and a rom-com.

We think the idea of dining in one of Hitchin's most romantic restaurants with a partner is the best way to a person's heart on Valentine's Day.

However, knowing where to go can be difficult, with many brilliant choices across Hitchin.

So, whether you're going on a first date or taking your significant other out for a meal - Hitchin Nub News has got you covered: With the top five romantic restaurants in our area, as rated by Trip Advisor.

5) The Farmhouse at Redcoats

The right atmosphere and great food are essential when picking a romantic restaurant - and Anglia Country Inns' Farmhouse is outstanding.

You'd be hard-pressed to think of a more perfect place to celebrate a big moment or anniversary - or even Valentine's Day.

4) Los Reyes

Funnily enough Hitchin Nub News visited Los Reyes before Christmas and throughly enjoyed the mouth-wateringly creative tapas, craft beers, fine wines and wonderful ambience the Bucklersbury restaurant provides. No wonder so many visitors agree on Trip Advisor.

A sumptuous menu provides many highlights including Gambas Pil, which are tiger prawns, chilli and garlic oil, as well as Pinchos de pollo y chorizo - marinated chicken breast and chorizo skewers and don't forget their Albondigas - piccante pork and beef meatballs, spiced tomato sauce, manchego.

And don't forget to try their stunning Manchego con Almendras y miel which is aged Manchego, almonds and orange blossom honey.

All of which adds up to by far one of the best culinary experiences you can have in Hitchin.

3) Bar Azita

At a town centre site previously occupied by The Brick Rooms, and home for many years to Bar Meze, the brilliant Bar Azita brings a flavour of Andalucia to Hitchin.

Start the evening off with a glass of bubbly or one of their famed cocktails and see where the night takes you.

2) Kite at The Red Hart

This is pretty much our dream romantic location to spend the night over a bottle of something nice with your significant other.

The menu is just as impressive, where you can choose from cocktails, three-course dinners or their signature grazing table - a perfect spot for a delicious meal where they pile the table high with cured meats, artisan cheeses and so much more.

1) The Old George Ickleford

The Old George in Ickleford is a family and dog friendly village pub with a fascinating history. Their food is always freshly cooked and there's a great selection of beers, spirits and wines.

The 15th century pub in the heart of Ickleford village on the outskirts of Hitchin is steeped in history and local legend, the main bar boasts a centuries old inglenook fireplace to welcome guests, leading through to a cosy dining area, were you can sample their fare. A separate Snug Bar is the perfect place to wine and dine your special one on Valentine's Day.
