A message from the friends of Victoria Kevans.

"On 24 January, 2024, we lost the inspiring woman that was Victoria Kevans. Mother, sister, friend, businesswoman and so much more than that. The outpouring of love shown at her passing was truly humbling and further humbling was the generosity of those who made donations in Vic's name for a lasting memorial.

After much thought and careful planning the first part of that memorial will be ready for the town on Friday 24 January, 2025, a year after Vic's passing.

A beautiful bench will be installed on Windmill Hill in Hitchin in her memory - a place where we feel she will be watching down on us all, keeping an eye on the town she poured her heart and soul into, a town she loved and which loved her right back.

Vic's family and friends will be holding a short ceremony to mark the installation of the bench and all are welcome to join. It matters not how or why you knew Vic, if you would like to come along, please do as we mark the occasion and 'open' the bench for the whole town to enjoy, a place to watch the world go by, a place to pause and reflect.

We'll gather at Windmill Hill for 6.30pm on Friday 24 January, and the ceremony will take no more than 30 minutes. If there is anyone who would like to say a few words about Vic as part of the event, please do let @catfeastuk or @nicola_kevans know - it has been very comforting to know how much she meant to people and we want to continue to celebrate her. 💕

Vic was a shining light in the lives of so many, so we also want to fill the hill with light during the event. She radiated sunshine so let's see if we can make the hill light up - please bring glo sticks, a LED light, lantern, or phone torch etc, and make the hill shine. Please no real flames.

If you are not able to come on that Friday, we hope that you will go visit in your own time and take a moment to remember Vic and anyone special in your own lives.

Finally, thank you to each and every one of you who donated in Vic's memory to make this possible. 🙏

Please feel free to share this far and wide.

Much love, light & gratitude to you all 💖✨"
