Village near Hitchin to host Bank Holiday Flower Festival

(Bev Creagh) Lilley's popular Flower Festival which takes place over the Bank Holiday weekend will have some showbiz glamour from the start.
It's being opened by former opera singer and Traitors star Linda Rands, who was described by Grazia magazine as the standout personality of the series.
Linda, who will do the honours at 10.30am on Saturday, May 3, says taking part in the iconic show was an amazing experience, as well as being "so much fun."
A keen gardener herself, she's looking forward to seeing the 21 creative arrangements in St Peter's Church around the theme of Thank You for the Music.
The annual event, which attracts hundreds of visitors from all over the country, has something for everyone – from magnificent floral displays in the beautiful church to a variety of stalls in the Cassel Hall including books, plants and white elephant.
There will also be a raffle.
Visitors can enjoy delicious home-made cakes and scones, as well as lunches on both days the Festival is open.
The Cassel Hall boasts a children's playground and there will be live music during the day in the church.
The Flower Festival will be open from 10.30am to 4.30pm on Saturday and Sunday, May 3 and 4.
Entrance is £4 (children go free).
