FRIDAY: Benslow Music - Concert with the Coull String Quartet

Regular visitors to Benslow, the Coull Quartet was formed in 1974 by students at the Royal Academy of Music under the guidance of renowned quartet leader, Sidney Griller, and rapidly achieved national recognition,

They were appointed Quartet-in-Residence by the University of Warwick in 1977, a post which they held for over forty years. The Quartet, which includes two of its founder members, has performed and broadcast extensively throughout the UK, and has made tours of Western Europe, the Americas, Australia, China, India and the Far East.

SUNDAY: A Commute Through Time: History in the Station Underpass

We've all seen the evocative sepia-tinted photographs that line the tunnel between north and south platforms at Hitchin railway station.

But now, you can learn more about the stories behind the pictures and iconic murals that adorn the walls on the way to trains taking us to London.

The brilliant North Herts Museum has opened a must-visit new exhibition called A Commute Through Time: History in the Station Underpass
