Detectives are appealing for witnesses, information and dash cam footage following a business robbery in Hitchin.

At around 3.40pm yesterday (Sunday 5 October), a group of people reportedly entered the EE store on the High Street. The smoke alarm was set off and several mobile phones were stolen.

A 48-year-old man from London was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit robbery. He has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Detective Sergeant Samantha Casey, from the North Herts Criminal Investigation Department, said: "Our investigation is ongoing and I am appealing for any witnesses to please come forward.

"I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have captured dash cam footage in the West Alley car park, drove along the one-way system, or drove around Nun's Close between 2.30pm and 4pm on Sunday.

"If you captured any footage, please upload this via herts.police.uk/dashcamupload.

"Additionally, if you saw what happened or have any further details, please email me via [email protected]."

You can also report information online at herts.police.uk/report, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat at herts.police.uk/contact or call the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference 41/94498/25.
