Police are appealing for witnesses after a runner was bitten by a dog that was reportedly dangerously out of control in Hitchin.

The incident happened at around 9.45am on Thursday 26 March on Old Hale Way, where a woman was running when she was bitten by a Labrador, causing two puncture wounds to her thigh.

The dog's owner spoke with an American accent and enquiries are ongoing to trace her.

Investigating officer PC Martin Barringer said: "Our investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to please report to police.

"If you have any details, I can be emailed directly via [email protected]."

Anyone with information can also report it online, speak to an operator via the police online web chat, or call the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 41/28154/26.
