Work has begun in earnest in turning Hitchin's former Venue bar into flats.

As Nub News has reported previously the former late night bar on Bancroft is being torn down, with Henlow-based developers Robkit Developments, set to build 13 apartments.

Conditional planning permission had been granted by North Herts District Council a full five years ago - but as you can see from our latest pictures taken on Thursday morning, the project to convert the site of the former Phoenix, Tut'n'Shive and the Adam & Eve is well under way.

The original application, seen by Hitchin Nub News, requests a "change of use from offices (B1 use) and bar / nightclub (A4 use) to 2 x 1 bedroom flats and 11 x 2 bedroom flats."
