World Famous Brass Band comes to Hitchin!

Get set for a world class brass band visiting Hitchin this weekend.

On Saturday (May 7), the world renowned Foden's Band will be joining forces with our town's Hitchin Brass Band, to give a fantastic concert at St Mary's Church.

Foden's Band are the current national champions, won their regional championship competition earlier this year and just last weekend came third in the European Brass Band Championships - so it is a pleasure to be able to welcome them to Hitchin.

The concert has been supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England with the aim to help promote youth brass playing in Hertfordshire.

As such, all under 16 tickets to the concert are free (which can be allocated on the ticket website or on the door) and the concert will feature a specially commissioned piece to be played by Hitchin Youth Band with Foden's Band called 'Family Bonds' celebrating the way music brings people together.

Hitchin Band's Hannah Landsman said: "The event promises to be a real spectacle, with the use of film and imagery to accompany the music and rousing joint numbers between the two bands.

"This is an event not to be missed and we are lucky to welcome Foden's to our town and help to inspire the next generation of brass players."

Foden's Band and Hitchin Band – Saturday 7th May – 7.30pm at St Mary's Church, Hitchin.
